Wedding Channel Africa

MarketingMarketing

Wedding Channel Africa (WCA) is Africa's first 24-hour wedding television channel, created to celebrate love, family and the beauty of African weddings and marriages. After years of developing and airing its content across local television platforms, WCA sought to take its programming to a much larger audience through MultiChoice, Africa's leading media and entertainment companies, with a presence across multiple African markets.

THE CHALLENGE

The Challenge

To aid its engagement with Multichoice, Onetouch Africa was commissioned to develop a comprehensive partnership proposal for WCA's engagement with MultiChoice, presenting the channel, its programming, audience, commercial opportunity and vision for a wider African audience. WCA needed a compelling document that could communicate the scale and potential of its television proposition to a major pan-African media and distribution company. The challenge was to bring a wide range of information into one clear, structured and persuasive proposal, while retaining the ambition behind the channel and the opportunity it presented.

OUR APPROACH

OUR APPROACH

We structured and designed a comprehensive proposal that brought the WCA story together across its key business and programming areas. From the channel overview and audience to programming, content architecture, scheduling, promotion and commercial projections, each section was organised to build a clear and compelling case for the opportunity. Our prior understanding of WCA also brought valuable context to the project. Having previously worked with Playcenter Ltd, WCA's parent company, we had first-hand experience of the channel and its development during its early stages.

THE RESULT

IMPACT

The proposal supported WCA's engagement with MultiChoice and became part of the journey towards a major milestone. On the 14th of February, 2024, Wedding Channel Africa officially launched on DStv and GOtv, extending its reach beyond Nigeria to audiences across multiple African markets. Oneouch Africa is proud to have contributed to taking a wedding media concept to a pan-African television audience.
